Mga Kantang May Kakabit Na Memories
Galing akong Alabang kanina with my cousin. Namili kami ng school supplies for our kids. Nakupo, pasukan na naman! Daming gastos.
Pero tuwa ako kasi nakabili ako sa Odyssey ng mga albums of “old” songs, specifically 80’s music. Panahon ko yun! (Ngii, napapaghalata ang katandaan ko). I got a double cassette worth P190 lang titled “80’s Replay”. Andun yung mga songs na nagpapa-alala sa kin ng high school days ko – Take On Me by A-Ha, West End Girls by Pet Shop Boys, Manic Monday by Bangles, I Like Chopin by Gazebo, 99 Red Balloons by Nena, Let’s Hear it for the Boy by Denise Williams at marami pang iba.
Meron pa akong nabili on sale, P50 lang entitled “Absolute Classics: 16 Hard-to-Find Classic Love Songs”. It includes Ever Since the World Began by Survivor, Don’t Give Up On Us by David Soul, A Penny for Your Thoughts etc. What made me decide to buy it? Dahil sa kantang You Don’t Love Me Anymore ni Weird Al Yankovich. Sobrang tawang-tawa ako sa song na yun noong unang lumabas yun, around 1992 ata. I remember a friend of mine who even transcribed that song at binigyan ako ng copy sa sobrang aliw namin. Brought back lots of memories.
