Usapang Books

Yaman din lamang na napag-usapan sa isang forum na member ako kung anong mga books ang type namin, share ko na din dito yung isinulat ko doon. Malay natin, ma-type-an nyo ring bitbitin (teka, bayaran nyo muna bago kayo lumabas ha hehehe) next time na manggaling kayo sa bookstore ...

I've been a bookworm since my elementary days (kaya nga ang labo-labo na ng mata ko!) and have grown from the Nancy Drew/Bobsey Twins/Dana Girls/Hardy Boys phases to Sweet Valley/Sweet Dreams/Mills & Boon/Harlequin etc. to my current favorites in no particular order:

THE BIBLE of course dahil ito dapat palagi ang source ng guidance natin in everything we do.

CS LEWIS of the Chronicles of Narnia series (i read this when i was in college and until now love ko pa rin ang stories dito)

STORMIE OMARTIAN who gave me great insights on being my hubby's partner and being a mom by her books The Power of a Praying Wife and The Power of a Praying Parent

BARBRA TAYLOR BRADFORD who wrote the Woman of Substance trilogy and other books that taught and inspired me more about being the woman i could become and the best mom that i can be

WILBUR SMITH - when i read River God, i was amazed; when i got hold of its sequel The Seventh Scroll, i was hooked for life. Smith transports me to far away places effectively with his vivid descriptions and unforgettable characters

JAMES HERRIOT the beloved veterinarian who had me laughing many a nights because of his genius in relating humorous stories so well and who fostered in me the love for animals kaya bigla kaming nag-adopt ng dalmatian last year

KEN FOLLETT because his books combine intrigue and good plots effectively that you can't help but turn the pages to know what happens next

ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE and the Sherlock Holmes series and AGATHA CHRISTIE whose unforgettable Hercule P and Ms Marple characters I still remember fondly. i have always loved mysteries so remnants ito ng younger days ko na hindi ko mabitawan.

BARBARA CARTLAND dahil inaamin kong hopeless romantic ako that's why her books would always evoke the awww! in me hehehe

AMY TAN and her Chinese characters who are not really that much different from us Pinoys when it comes to family values. Although medyo weird ang ibang traditions nila sa totoo lang.

Graduate na ako kina Danielle Steele (her books all read the same after a while), Jackie Collins (too much lasciviousness hehehe), John Grisham (some I like, some I don't), Sidney Sheldon (If Tomorrow Comes lang ata ang naging totoong favorite ko though Master of the Game is also good pala), VC Andrews and Anne Rice (intriguing plots pero masyadong dark ang stories).

Individual works I like are:
Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
The Calder Saga (4 books) by Janet Dailey - ang ganda ng development of stories about 4 generations

Basta marami pa, di ko lang maisip yung iba right now ... blame it on my anesthesia-induced bad memory :P
